As a reader, I stand up and cheer at the availability of such wonderful stories -- and if you haven't checked out Sherwood Smith, go and do it without delay, for you are in for a treat! People wail about the deluge of utter drek out there in Phosphor-Land, but hasn't it always been true that we don't like everything we read? Having a venue like BVC, where you can read the first chapter to see if it's to your taste, and where you can find out of print books, books that were far too marvelous to disappear, provides a wonderful guide through the deluge.
(And while you're there, you can check out my ebooks and free stories.)
As a writer (and a member of BVC), I find this adventure in collective publishing exciting. It reminds me of one of the most successful strategies for bookstore signings--get a bunch of local authors and hold a panel discussion. Readers may come to hear one of us, but get intrigued by what another has to say. Plus we offer something of value, a stimulating discussion, not just an autograph if you buy a book. So check out the blog as well as the bookstore.
