Oka at 12 1/2 years
Apr. 8th, 2013 09:14 amDespite having lymphoma and degenerative myelopathy, our sweet boy is still loving life. He's tolerating chemo well and keeps going even when his hind legs are wonky. Here he is, taking a break from fetching tennis balls. This is the "meadow" - the vacant lot adjacent to our property.

We brought him to the kids' meeting at Quaker Meeting yesterday and talked about reading dog's body language. Then we showed a little obedience training, and Oka's two favorite games - the laser pointer and his "spherical blue sheep," a hard rubber horse ball that he herds with great glee. He gets it rolling with his nose and by bumping it with his chest. The game is to make it go where he wants it to go - which is back to us so we can roll it or throw it for him to herd again.
