I love how the sound team talks about balancing dialog, music, and sound effects. I'm so visual, I tend to focus on what I see in a movie, then music next, so it's fascinating to hear how much thought and care has gone into the entire immersive experience. Even if you didn't care for the movie, check this out for the description of the sound-artistic process.
Fan Outrage and The Hobbit Movies
Jan. 4th, 2014 11:03 amI really don't care that Peter Jackson changed so much of The Hobbit. I loved the book; I love the films. To me, they're not the same story. I get to enjoy two marvelous stories instead of one, and surely that's a good thing. And I think Howard Shore's music is glorious and a total hoot to play on the piano.
