Preliminary BayCon report

Spent an enjoyable day yesterday, with the "death of newpapers" panel turning out surprisingly well, also got to attend a panel I wasn' t on, chatted with writerly and other friends, got to watch my young friend (actually a Friend, a young fan I know through the Quaker meeting, who had never been to a con before) experience fandom in a very positive way, had dinner with beloved daughter and daughter-in-love, enjoyed masquerade. Did not run out of gasoline or hit a deer on the way home. Now up, high protein breakfast, and back for another day.
