"I would plant a garden, even if it's only in pots or window boxes. There's something so spiritually nourishing about digging in earth and then eating something you've grown yourself, a reassurance that the world is generous. If I had the space to grow more, I would give the surplus to a food pantry or homeless shelter; or arrange a garden co-op with neighbors, to grow different crops and exchange the surplus, so I don't have to grow everything. I could participate in setting up a community garden, with classes on intensive gardening practices, to encourage others to feed themselves. Oh, and don't forget flowers..."
