A season of hope
Dec. 27th, 2008 06:36 pmIf you found yourself back in August 1929, knowing what was about to happen, with only a little savings, what would you do? How would you keep hope alive, hold panic at bay? Live in compassion and fellowship instead of fear?
Here's one idea. If this speaks to you, add one of your own and pass it on...
"I'd start a soup exchange with my neighbors. Each family would take turns making enough hearty soup for everyone. We would get to know one another better and become less isolated. It would become easier for the neighborhood to respond sensitively to the needs of its most vulnerable members, no one asking for more than they can return, each nourishing and caring for the other with dignity."
