First, the good. Hand is healing, and I can even do a little Downward-Facing Dog (my favorite yoga asana); new refrigerator is here and working; mud room almost done. Everyone else healthy...

except...

My cousin's husband, Rabbi Moshe Cotel http://moshecotel.com/index.php died suddenly the day before yesterday. He was at prayer, preparing to leave for a concert tour, had been in excellent health. Please hold his family in your hearts in these painful days. He was a true mensch, a caring and inspiring man.

Holding his family in the Light. So much tougher when it's unexpected.

Thank you.

If you go to his website, click "Recordings" and watch the video clips from "Chronicles" performance, particularly the intro to Rachmaninoff.

I'm sorry to hear that... it's sad when people pass without warning.

I don't know that we ever truly prepare ourselves, but there is a particular quality to the shock/grief when it's unexpected. Moshe and Aliya had been Israeli dancing the night before, and walked home in fine spirits.

So sorry to see that you lost someone special :-( I can't imagine a better way to go than in prayer, but we who are left behind feel sad no matter what...

Hello, Deborah, it's Francesca :-)

Hi Francesca -- we are now officially friended! I'd say Friends, but all the Quakers would make assumptions

Knowing Moshe, even a little, I think he'd be pleased. The family has lots of support -- my cousin Aliya is the most network-generating person I've ever met.
