Prayers, please

While we have been some distance from the recent fires in Santa Cruz County (the Martin fire was the closest, and moving away from our neighborhood), I just spoke to my sister, who lives near Booneville in Mendocino County. That county has reported over 90 fires, sparked by the lightning storm yesterday. She was packing to be ready to evacuate, following official warnings. She lives in a hand-built house on a beautiful wooded hill, sharing land with an organic vintner. While she does have a place to go, on the coast, her art studio, press, and archived paintings are at risk.

Send good thoughts for a shift in the wind.

I'm sorry to hear that... having to leave your house in those circumstances would be dreadful. :( Hopefully the fires will stop soon...
