BayCon prospects
May. 25th, 2008 08:42 amI'm off after breakfast. This year, a greatly reduced panel schedule, for what reason I cannot imagine, except possibly the con has been drifting away from the reading/writing/genre topics I enjoy. More media, SCA or LRP stuff. This year it's "Pirates," which are fun, but I don't costume or say "arggg" very well, and I have a tenuous-at-best-relationship with real parrots.
However, I am prepared to be amused by the SFWA meeting, to hold forth on how to name alien characters, to lunch with fabulous new sf writer Juliette Wade (celebrating her first short story sale, and to Analog at that!), hang around, make a nuisance of myself, autograph books at the dealer's room, and conglomerate a dinner party with Denise Lee and any co-conspirators we can nab.
Tomorrow, Comfort Reading panel.
Reports, if anything worth reporting, to follow.
