A week at the beach
Aug. 28th, 2007 11:55 amGot back Saturday from my annual retreat at a private beach near Laguna Beach. I've rented it for one or two weeks almost every summer since Sarah was a baby -- missed the year Rose was born and the year we were in France. Dave doesn't come -- beaches/heat/sand/swimming are not his thing, and he can't bring the dog, so he stays home and does garden stuff. My friend Denise drove down with me, but hurt her knee the second day, so I went beaching and walking and tidepooling by my self. And slept.
And read: Bujold's THE SHARING KNIFE: BEGUILEMENT (or rather, inhaled it, very satisfying romantic fantasy); Robert Charles Wilson MYSTERIUM; Robin McKinley's superb-as-usual SPINDLE'S END.
And wrote: outline and 1 3/4 chapters of the next Darkover book. It's rolllling, folks!
Home to meet our Thai exchange student, Sunanta, and begin catching up on cleaning/billpaying/etc. So what else is new?
