We took Mika and Oka for a walk today. At first, Oka in front, Mika 30 or 40 feet behind, gradually closing the distance until they were side by side. They looked curiously at one another, without any reactivity. Finally, we allowed them to greet -- impeccable doggie manners. Huzzah! He has a friend!

Thank you. We were very fortunate in having a friend who is knowledgeable about positive methods of dog training and a class that gave us a bunch of techniques to use -- both management and training. Much of the conventional dog training actually increases the anxiety level of an already anxious dog (i.e., using a choke or prong collar for control --> pain, which the dog then associates with other dogs, which triggers fear aggression)
