Just got a copy of the new cover for THE ALTON GIFT -- and it is GORGEOUS and SEXY and sooooo much better than the old one!

I'll see if I can get Dave to scan it in so I can post it. But until then...

Center, framed by a sculptured arch, with snowy mountains in background, is Domenic Alton-Hastur as a young man, long black hair, handsome and intense, wearing nicely romantic clothing; one either side, two very different but compelling beautiful young women, Illona Rider and Alanna Alar. Lots of cool symbolism -- Domenic is clutching a scroll for the burdens of leadership. he mountain scene evokes his ability to sense the heart of the planet. There's a subtle sparkle effect around Alanna that suggests her unstable laran. Illona wears red, for the Keeper she will become, and shades a glowing starstone on her breast. There's a great deal of tension and drama in the image, which I love.

The eye color isn't exactly right, but is such a trivial detail when so much else is wonderful.

The first cover (the one that's still up on amazon.com the last I checked, older man holding ring, red-toned background) very much did not please me. In fact, I hated it, except maybe for the towers in the background.

Be patient for a day, and then you can tell me what you think.
