A wonderful time of family gathering. Both my daughters and their partners came, we ate my homemade cinnamon-swirl coffee cake and Dave's amazing mushroom frittata and drank mimosas and then exchanged gifts. Later was quiet, that replete "down time" after all the excitement. Sarah and I went for a walk -- hooray, knee (mine)! hooray, arches (hers)! And after dinner (sushi leftover from the extravaganza of the day before -- we really did order too much, but it was all so good), Dave retreated to his tree house and Sarah and Otana and I watched the 2nd Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Very silly, just right.
Right now, Dave is making waffles for us all, to be served with frozen blackberries from 2 summers ago and other goodies. There's something particularly luxurious about having a man make breakfast for you
Happy, all.
