One branch of our family came to Georgia because they were transported from England as criminals. One branch came from the third son of one of the descendants of a German knight, whose last name was Van Zorn (lived on the river Zorn, and name changed to simply Zorn upon immigration). One branch are Scotch-Irish, which means they kept skipping from town to town. And my great-grandmother wasn't an immigrant at all, but was a member of the Cherokee tribe.
