Dear Deborah, are you sure about the February 07 date for ALTON GIFT?
There is no listing anywhere with that date and since it is only a couple of months away, I find that very odd.
The MZB Literary Trust site simply says "2007" without specifying the month. And the various branches of Amazon claim either August 07 or December 07.
August 07 would be unfortunate, because Viking seems to be all set to release Diana Paxson's next AVALON book, RAVENS OF AVALON in that month (again, according to Amazon).
I just heard back from Betsy Wollheim with yet another change in date. She says it's now pushed back to June 2007. I wouldn't be surprised if that changes again. Maybe I should refrain from specifying until I hold a cover flat in my hands
Meanwhile, I am not sitting still, but forging ahead with THE PROPHET OF MEKLAVAR and also doing some work on the next Darkover book. It has been called THE CHILDREN OF KINGS but when I discussed the general outline with Betsy at WorldCon last August, we both had doubts as to the suitability of the title, so it too may change. But that is a way downstream. As we daily have proof, a lot can happen between now and then.
