We have a hummingbird feeder hanging from the rafters above our back porch. All through the spring and summer, it has seen only sporadic feeders. I guess the profusion of natural sources proved more appetizing. For the past week or so, however, our feeder has become Hummingbird Central. I just refilled it this morning and already it is 1/4 gone. Oops, maybe 1/3 by now. The instructions on the food say to keep it available until one week after the last hummingbird is seen. This could go on for a while, or at least as long as the night temps are above freezing and it hasn't begun raining. They are wonderful to watch.

I have a hummingbird feeder too. Those little birds drive my cats crazy. LOL

Actually, in Northern California the Anna's Hummingbird stays year round. But the juice certainly lasts a lot longer in winter and early spring.
