Surgery for tooth abscess is scheduled tomorrow; I can expect to drive myself home, but be sore for a couple of days. Not my favorite way to spend the afternoon, but Rose has said she'll be available to hand me ice packs and tapioca, one of my favorite comfort foods. I'm not in a lot of pain now, but I definitely feel unwell, even on amoxicillin. The floor just drops away around 3 pm and all I want to do is crawl into bed.

I scheduled the surgery for Thurs rather than today because I had the second of 2 sessions as a model for a Rolf movement class. My first husband was a Rolfer, and I have a lot of respect for the work. I found a wonderful local practitioner, who also does and teaches the accompanying movement work; she is teaching this class, and I respond so well to the work, she wanted to use me as a model. I can feel my body going, "oh yes this feels wonderful, oh and this is how it moves..." Greedy, greedy.

Working on THE SEVEN-PETALED SHIELD, first a quick read-through since it's been awhile since I finished the first draft. Prose as usual needs cleaning up, but the core feels sound and I find myself reading faster just to see what comes next. Even though I wrote it!

Good luck with your teeth. I've just been through a broken tooth and the resulting new crown. But hey, tooth repair is better than dentures!

Boy, is that the truth! Just like eating salmon is cheaper than a bypass!

Surgery went well, endodontist feels we got the problem, time will tell. I'm sore & swollen and wiped out, but not in too much pain. On NSAIDS and amox, may need Vicodin to sleep. But because the drilling was just a membrane away from my sinus, I'm not allowed to blow my nose for 48 hours, and for some reason, that bothers me most! Aren't humans strange?

Hope you are feeling better. Dental surgery is certainly not at all fun. Michel Boutet

Hi, Michel! Great to see your phosphors! Is that you in the icon -- we had a cameo tabby very like that one. Sarah, Rose -- isn't it like Fossil? Major "Awwww" factor there.

Dear Deborah, first, thank you for sending me a msg. Under the circumstances I never expected you to feel well enough to do much of anything else except sleep for several days. Yes, the picture is of me and Whiskey, the very first day he came into my life. He is much bigger now, I will post an up to date pic on my site soon. My wife found him abandoned next to a dumpster several miles from our home so she picked him up and dumped him in my lap, literally. His eyes were still blue and remained so for several days. He adopted me, as you can see. He is the most affectionate cat I have ever been around. Forever jumping into my lap, trying to type on my Ibook at the same time as me. We also have 3 other cats who roam in our apartment. I am alergic to cats, but II love them too much to be without them. May I have your permission to write to you again? Take care. michel

What a sweetie! Sometimes, strays make the best pets. My favorite of our 3 is a dilute tortoiseshell (gray instead of black) named Cleo, who is also very affectionate and responsive to human contact. As I type, she is sitting on my desk, partially blocking my monitor, and purring enthusiastically. She's 13, aging gracefully.

Feel free to write again. I was going to answer you, but saw your post here instead. If I don't answer right away, it's because of Attack Chapter.
