Juliette Wade blogs on the necessity to safeguard one's writing time. This is so important, especially when we are surrounded by people who trivialize our aspirations - although why an author whose cover story in Analog was graced with a Michael Whelan cover has to justify her work baffles me completely. But we all need support at time, and reassurance that it's okay to do the work we love.
