Great hordes of wetness descending from the sky remind me that, unlike SoCal, where I lived for many years, this area is self-sufficient in water supply.

Grouch alert: About a week and a half ago, I woke up with terrific pain in straightening one knee. It had been badly injured in the mid '90s, when 250 lbs of kung fu sparring partner landed on it, but seemed to have recovered completely. Who knows if that's relevant? I think I slept on it twisted, and the symptoms fit tendinitis pretty well. So of course, my first tactic is to ignore it and do what I want anyway. Bad me, no doughnut for that one. Finally, I gave in and slapped on ice once or twice a day, tried ibuprofen (lasted 2 days on it before my stomach informed me this was Not Going To Work). Still icing and watching slow improvement ... still exercising. Once the knee warms up, it feels pretty good, but then the soreness/swelling returns once it's cooled down. Still, more painfree moments every day.

I am bribing myself to tolerate the ice by watching the commentaries to THE RETURN OF THE KING. So far, so good.

I know I'm waaay late responding to this, but I had the same problem with one of my knees. It was so painful I could only sleep on my back in my Lazy-Boy. Why do we young things have to go through this stuff? ;-)
