Robin Hobb on Book View Cafe

And while we are on the subject of e-books, I want to mention a place that caters to lovers of e-books, with a generous supply of free samples of books. Book View Cafe is an enterprise that allows authors to put up their own e-books for sale, in a variety of DRM free formats. My hot tip: Try the first volume of Starfarers by Vonda McIntyre for free. And even if you do not have an e-book reader, take a moment to visit A Pillow Book for Cats by Ursula LeGuin.

I recently got a Nook, and downloaded a book from BVC. It was painless, and delight. I'd been visiting the site for awhile, but now it is even more seductive!

So glad it's working for you! Was it easy to find out how to do it? Should the BVC webpage post instructions?

I found it the easiest non-proprietary ebook download ever. The BVC site told me which format to use for my Nook, so I just hooked it up, clicked "download" and about 45 seconds later it was done. There was a brief moment of panic when I couldn't find it on my Nook, but then I found the "downloads" folder, and there it was.

But, I play with a lot of tech, and a lot of different tech platforms, so I didn't need much "handholding" on it. I may not be the best answer source.
