COK progress
Jan. 20th, 2006 02:16 pmTHE CHILDREN OF KINGS. This chapter (now a chapter cluster) should be entitled, "Adventures in Shainsa." A summons by the Lord of Shainsa, a bar fight, a mysterious meeting, an assassination... So far, 2 chapters (Ch. 7 & 8), but may expand into 3. At the moment, things are falling nicely into place, which is good because a virus type life form is flirting with my sinuses. Ch 7 is roughly done, and I'm on p. 16 of Ch. 8; may be able to finish today, and that will be a solid week's work.
Darkover in Germany
Date: 2006-01-23 01:05 pm (UTC)The fron matter of the book also included the notice that more books would be forthcoming. I hope that means that Random House Germany has also bought the CoK trilogy?
Best,

Date: 2006-01-24 03:37 am (UTC)Sometimes, I feel as if I'm living in several time zones at once --the last book to come out, the one I'm revising, the one I'm writing that won't come out for another year and a half at least. And if a reader asks about one of my Deborah Wheeler novels -- as sometimes happens -- that's major whiplash as they were written in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

Date: 2006-01-24 08:16 am (UTC)well, I will read ALTON GIFT in English anyway and will not wait for any German translation. But Darkover is still VERY popular in Germany and there are still a lot of fans who do not read English fluently enough.
By the way, I hope your agent is also offering THE SEVEN PETALED SHIELD in Germany? I am also very much looking forward to that!
