Omnibii, anyone?

Since just about everyone I know on LJ knows everyone else I know on LJ, you've undoubtedly been hearing about Book View Cafe's release of omnibus editions of series by BVC authors (details below). I'm going to plug Vonda's "Starfarers" series, first because she's a terrific writer, second because I had trouble tracking down some of these in dead-tree editions. Mostly because of a bit of action in the first volume that totally got me: on a generational starship with carefully environments, including gardens, a crew member digs in the earth... what's she doing? planting seeds? taking soil samples? analyzing microflora? Nope, she's hiding fossils for future generations to discover. Wow, I want to know this woman!
