Support Your Favorite Author!

Thanks to Jerry Weinberg of Book View Cafe for some excellent ideas of how to support authors you enjoy. I'm not comfortable with all these ideas, but you might be.
0. Review their books (anyone want to review mine?)
1. Buy their books, not just for you, but as gifts for almost
all occasions (maybe not funerals).
2. Mention their books to your friends, like in an email signature.
3. Mention on your blog--doesn't need to be a big-time review.
4. Mention in comments on others' blogs.
5. Ask others to do 0-4.
6. Talk with your local librarian(s) and school teachers when appropriate.
7. Ask your local bookstore to keep copies on the shelves (like when
you're buying one, or more, as a gift).
8. Keep your eye on their review places, in case they get negative or
unhelpful reviews, so you can counter them.
9. Start a fan club.
10. Lobby your local group (like Sisters in Crime or SciFi club or
writers group or convention) to invite your fave author as a (paid) speaker.
