New scam -- hilarious!

deborahjrossThis one had me holding my sides laughing. It was a good thing I'd set my cup of tea down first. I had visions of a singing greeting card ("to the tune of"), the befuddled clerks at the Spanish High Court in Madrid (Madrid???), and the poor victims "that most times put them in problem." Yep, the problem being this email.
The USPS (without the asterisk) has a .gov URL, USP (United Parcel Service) is a private company, and why would a US Postal Inspector have a qatar email address? Not to mention the utter bafflement of a scanner that detects a CARD (maybe they're thinking prepaid VISA card?) -- I'll bet the TSA would love to get their hands on that scanner!

This is to notify you that we have intercepted your parcel from UPS COURIER SERVICE is making the delivery and we have stopped the delivery process for some security reasons stated below:
Our scanning system has detected that your parcel contains a confirmable CARD to the tune of US1,500,000.00 USD.
Also for the Delivery of the Parcel to continue, you are in obligation to obtain from Spain, a Duly Sworn Affidavit from Spanish High Court which will back up the Origin of Fund. This is in line with the Anti-Terrorist Campaign which the USA Government has embarked on recently to protect our Territory from future attacks. You should therefore contact the sender of the CARD or the UPS Courier Agent in Madrid Spain to get the Sworn Affidavit for you while we wait to receive from you the Affidavit File Number to enable us forward your CARD to your address.

Date: 2010-09-19 03:52 am (UTC)there is so much more than just a few narrow precepts that some hold on to. why limit your self to just one thing over another. as to which is better...i imagine it's a matter of perspective as to what you like, such as beethoven over the beatles i'd take beethoven every time. but that's personal taste.
the world is a wide open place. there's so much out there that we've yet to explore and i really want to embrace such joy. ^^
