I know I've been peppering your with BVC announcements. Now it's your turn to talk back. Do you visit the site and if so, what do you enjoy? Blogs? Daily free stories? The eBookstore and all the yummies you buy there? The newsletter? Finding out about new authors?

Book View Cafe keeps growing, offering not only more authors but more kinds of fiction. Our newest member is Gerald Weinberg. The official scuttlebutt is here:

On Thursday, August 19th, Book View Café welcomes Gerald Weinberg as its newest member. Weinberg incorporates his knowledge of science, engineering, and human behavior, as well as his years as a consultant in his writing. Early in his career, he was the architect for the Mercury Project's space tracking network, and designer of the world's first multiprogrammed operating system. Winner of the Warnier Prize and the Stevens Award for his writing on software quality, he is also a charter member of the Computing Hall of Fame in San Diego and the University of Nebraska Hall of Fame.

In addition to his non-fiction on human behavior and leadership, Weinberg also writes “nerd novels” such as THE AREMAC PROJECT, FIRST STRINGERS, SECOND STRINGERS, THE HANDS OF GOD, and MISTRESS OF MOLECULES--about how brilliant people produce quality work. For his debut, Weinberg is offering his science fiction novel FIRST STRINGERS. The first three chapters will be available at the launch on the 19th. Watch for subsequent chapters on Thursdays at http://www.bookviewcafe.com.

Weinberg has plans to make his other fiction (eight novels) and select non-fiction titles available at Book View Café in the future. Watch Gerald Weinberg's bookshelf at BookViewCafe.com (http://www.bookviewcafe.com/index.php/Gerald-M.-Weinberg/) for details.

Gerald Weinberg's website address is: http://www.geraldmweinberg.com.

I like all of the site, in fact. I don't do the e-book thing because my eyes aren't up for long periods of reading off a screen, but I love that they're there. And the rest is splendid.

[livejournal.com profile] sartorias was asking, too. I read blog posts that she, you, or others link to. I pay attention to the announcements of new releases, but so far I haven't bought anything. I've been reading [livejournal.com profile] sartorias's Wren story there, as well.
