The best part was watching our 2 y.o., Shakir, peeking behind the monitor to see where the cats were.

That's a good one. My youngest cat, Horus, came in to hunt for the interlopers.

Isn't it strange how cats will ignore videos one moment and decide they are prey/friends/enemies the next? Gayatri will sometimes ignore the cursor and sometimes find it fascinating.

Moon does that, too. The computer comes under the heading of 'things that distract the human', of course, but she seems to see a play value in it at well.

Gayatri has finally learned that the best place to sit on the desk is where we can both see the monitor. Ah, I err. It is second best. Best is curled up on my chest, head-butting my chin.

Moon likes to sit on the desk next to my left arm, wheer she can lean, purr and wash my hair for me, or to get between the keyboard and the monitor -- because seeing through a white fluffy cat is of course normal.. Ish is the one for the lap when I'm working.

Henh, Jetta came up to look, too. Where are they? she says.

Isn't it funny how sometimes there will be a video with a cat meowing and real-time cats totally ignore it-- but other times, something in the video--the sound, the image, I don't know--connects as "another real cat"? And we humans are too dull to know the difference.
