Yes, I think it's strong and striking, without being overly illustrative. (And it's probably better to let the reader imagine what they all look like. These are characters Marion created decades ago, so long-time fans know them very well, and I'm sure have Strong Opinions.)

Will do! Maybe I can pass along some to my mom this Christmas, given how early night falls during the winter months in Maine.
For me, it could be hard enough to find the right balance between brevity and expressiveness when I was doing poetry in the 90's. At the same time, it never took me more than a set of hours or, at most, days.
To dedicate weeks and months, if not years in some cases, to a body of work.....trust me, it has nothing but my respect.
