My inner child has put in a request for movies, so Rose and I went to see MIRRORMASK this afternoon. Despite the lush imagery, it wasn't what she had in mind. The script is by Neil Gaiman, and it's very, very weird. Even Rose, who is still a teenager, agreed it was weird. There were times when it "almost" came together for me, but not quite, so there wasn't the payoff of going along on this rollercoaster through Bizarroland, and yet I couldn't quite surrender wanting-there-to-be-a-Meaning and just enjoy. A prime case of YMMV, so I'd be curious to hear how others responded to it.

We, inner child and I, are looking forward to KONG, LION/WITCH/WARDROBE and the next HARRY. Meanwhile, there's the new Zorro movie, which looks like a kick.

That's how I felt the first time I saw "2001." I came out of the theatre thinking, "What??" LOL

I too am looking forward to the new Harry. Doesn't it open this week??
