I still have the cold-that-never-ends, but at least my energy is picking up. I was able to write 8 pages today, and yesterday got the sheets washed, ran some errands, went to a meeting. Today's excitement was a frantic call from Daughter, who had discovered a flat tire at the exact moment she had to leave to catch the commuter bus. I was in my sweats, having just begun my morning strength-training routine (or one of them, as I rotate DVDs). I grabbed a banana and some rice cakes and dashed out the door. We made it just as the last passenger was getting on the bus, hooray!
Tomorrow, we'll join some new friends for the first night of Passover. This will be the first seder in many years that I haven't hosted. I'll bring gefilte fish and asparagus from our garden, and be prepared to enjoy someone else's version of the journey to freedom. We are asked to share something that reflects where our own "narrows" have been this year. Oy, where do I start?
