Home again
Mar. 12th, 2009 04:24 pmWhen I left Portland, the wind had a definite nip and the skies were gray. It snowed twice, with showers of hail in between, in the week I was there. Now it's almost 70, sunny and -- what's that blue stuff all over the clouds? Our garden is exploding with delight. I spent what was left of yesterday catching up on laundry and email (although there are piles yet that need responses) and reassuring the animals that yes, I was back. Cleo, my 16 yo torti, has been following me around, purring and giving me nose-kisses. Needless to say, Dave was equally if more articulately happy to see me and I, him. A soak in the hot tub under the stars ensued.
Today, financial stuff, grocery shopping, Hebrew class tonight. Maybe a bit of writing if I can settle. My muse is getting restless and has been nudging me with an idea for a new novel, quite unlike anything I've done before. But, but, but, I have 2 under contract to write first! So write them, already, 'cause I'm not shutting up.
Likely, I'll not need to travel again until mid April, another Portland trip and then driving down to LA for the Nebs. It's good to be home.
