A lovely and fairly relaxed family dinner last night. We kept it simple, and kept the focus on enjoying one another. I so much prefer to not end Thanksgiving uncomfortably full. Why people think it's desirable to overeat to the point of going comatose, I don't know. I stopped inflicting that particular torture on myself decades ago.

Today was a bit of catch-up, as in getting dishes done, table set back to regular size, everything put away, plus from late morning to dinner time with a young couple, fairly new friends, who live on the coast. We took a stroll toward the beach cliffs along a trail that was bounded on one side by a cattle pasture and on the other, a harvested field of brussels sprouts. Here and there, a broken-off stalk remained. The cows thought these were a grand treat, so we pulled many, and also mallow, to feed them. There were a bunch of calves, still fuzzy, some quite shy of people.

Only a couple of paragraphs written today. We have designated tomorrow as The Day Things Get Done, so I'm content. House is clean, lots of yummy leftovers so no cooking dinners for a few days, sleepy time now.
