deborahjrossGot Chapters 4 and 5 sorted out. Far from perfect, but solid enough to plunge on. All the pieces are in the right places, and can be fleshed out in revision. Just noodled around the 3 pages on Chapter 6, really more than 3, since I have several pages of material that I snipped from 4/5. Such a satisfying feeling!
Also had piano lesson. I wrote some lyrics for a Bach aria, the one that has those dreadful original words about smoking a pipe and thinking about death, and sang them for my teacher. Mine use ocean images and "listening with an open heart." She was bowled over, to say the least. There are a few notes too low for my current range, but we can work on that. I think I am at last ready to consider performing in one of her small informal recitals "piano parties." Either the aria or "In Dreams" from LotR or maybe a medley of Bach Minuets in G Major/g minor. The neat thing about the aria is that I interpreted it in words, the neat thing about "In Dreams" is it's such a cool song, and the Bach minuets are a wonderful study in structure and sound really pretty, too. Decisions, decisions! Good thing the next one won't be til April, because the young students will be preparing for Certificate of Merit exams in March
