Great blog on book promotion
Nov. 18th, 2011 11:07 amI am so tired of the same old/same old unproven advice about promoting your books. For one thing, so much of it involves harassing people into buying, or risking sounding like a broken record. Or spending my entire life online.
So I was curious to see what Laura Anne Gilman of Book View Cafe had to add to the discussion, and was delighted to see that she brings some thoughtful new insights. She doesn't cover every single thing you can do. She doesn't tell you how to do it or offer a check list. Instead, she suggests a different way of looking at how to reach a readership.
We as readers are always looking for something new to read. I don’t mean new just as in "I haven’t read it before," but "huh, I hadn’t thought to go there before, but it sounds too good to resist."
