In Santa Cruz! In March!
We didn't get any (discernible) snow here, as we are in the "Banana Belt" of Boulder Creek, but even a few miles away, houses were dusted in white. We drove "over the hill" along Bear Creek Road to meet Dave's sister for brunch in Los Gatos, and the heights were very beautiful, winter-wonderland style. We pointed out the snow-covered vineyard signposts.
I was happy to see the prettyfulness, but did not insist Dave stop the car so I could make snowballs and throw them at him. I insist that called for great restraint on my part.
Now the sun is out, temperatures are easing toward 60oF, and I will take Oka for our usual walk into town and back, 3 mi RT, after I've finished vivisecting a chapter of THE ALTON GIFT.
