A sleepy Saturday
Jan. 7th, 2006 03:01 pmNow 8 pages into Chapter 6 of THE CHILDREN OF KINGS, we have arrived in Carthon, on our way to Shainsa. Company tonight, real not literary, making Yucatan lime soup (with butternut squash), chilaquiles (a sort of Mexican lasagna), zuccini, and ice cream sundaes with blackberries I picked last summer. Yum!
I have embarked on a project of turning the old family videos, made 1987-1995, into DVDs. Got software and coverter box (VCR --> computer --> DVD), tried out capturing and editing the first two. Decided I really need a DVD burner for my computer rather than doing it on Dave's. It will be a slow process since I need to make 5 copies, but I think that once I've got everything hooked up and in place, I can just set the system to do any of those steps and then go away. So most of the work will be done while I'm at work, on a walk, or sleeping. And especially slow since I have a long, difficult time adjusting to any new computer programs or equipment. Then, after the family videos are done, I can use the same system to take our old laser discs and turn them into DVDs.
