From time to time, I post excerpts from the sheriff's dispatch log, as printed in the local paper. We had a pretty quiet time last week.

May 30. A man and a woman were arrested on outstanding warrants.

May 29. A man was arrested after reports that he grabbed his girlfriend, pushed her to the ground and bit her neck. A woman was arrested after she passed out in the back seat of her vehicle, which reportedly blocked several driveways - the vehicle was towed and the woman was booked for public intoxication.

May 27. A paramedic opted to press battery charges after he reported being struck repeatedly in the chest by a man he was treating during a medical call. A man reported that someone had tagged his vehicle with a red marker and broken a window. A woman was arrested after deputies found her walking back and forth across the solid white line of a highway - she was later found to be under the influence of drugs.

May 26. A woman reported that someone had entered her apartment through a defective door and her laptop was missing.

May 25. A man was arrested and his vehicle towed after deputies reported finding him driving with a suspended license.

May 24. A man was arrested after a dispute with his neighbor - the man was found to have a felony bench warrant. A woman reported that her home had been burglarized - among items reported as stolen was a Smith and Wesson revolver.

Elsewhere in the county:

May 24. A skateboard was reported as stolen from an unlocked vehicle; a portable GPS was reported as stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

May 23. A woman was cited and released after she was found with a shopping cart off the store's premises, following a warning earlier about the same thing. A man was arrested under suspicion of public intoxication after he reportedly removed his shirt and threw things at a laundry facility.
