Our first winter storm has arrived, eager to make up for 3 years of drought and water rationing. The prediction is from 6 to 8 inches from this one storm. It's been pouring and blustering since breakfast time. Even our normally weather-impervious dog took one look and retreated back inside. Parts of our back yard resemble the Mississippi River in both color and currents. Dave has covered the grapes with heavy plastic, so we'll see if they survive. They still need a little time to ripen.
So far, no power outage, but it is an inevitability. For this, we have Generator. Mudslides are likely as well, especially in areas affected by last summer's fires. Alas, no Generator fix for them.
Meanwhile, it's lovely to be warm and dry and have a novel to write!
